Getting There
The hotel is centrally located in the heart of Brisbane City just 200 metres walk from Queen Street Mall, Eagle Street Pier entertainment precinct and the picturesque Botanical Gardens. Brisbane’s cultural precinct, Southbank and the Brisbane convention centre are an easy 10-15 minute walk away. 

Brisbane’s central train station is 800 metres walk from the hotel with direct trains to the airport and key south east Queensland destinations. Access to Brisbane domestic and international airport is only 25 minutes by car or 35 minutes by train, adjacent to the Four Points by Sheraton Brisbane offering an integrated hotel stay.

Catering
Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be available during the conference and is included in your registration fee. A coffee cart will also be available during the event.

International Conferences & Events (ICE) Pty Ltd reserves the right to deny entry and/or terminate the registration of any person who demonstrates behaviour that International Conferences & Events (ICE) Pty Ltd deems to be inappropriate and/or a risk to others.

Currency
All prices quoted are in Australian Dollars (AUD).

Delegate List
An attendee list will be supplied to all attendees including sponsors. If you do not wish to have your details on the delegate list please ensure you indicate this on your registration form.

Dietary Requirements
Please note any dietary requirements when registering for the conference. If you have purchased additional tickets for accompanying guest(s), please also indicate their requirements under your registration record. All dietary requirements will be forwarded to the venue.

Dress Code
The dress code throughout the conference is business or smart casual. The dress code for each function is indicated in the function description on the Social Functions page.

Duplication/Recording
Unauthorised photography, audio taping, video recording, digital taping or any other form of duplication is strictly prohibited in conference sessions.

GST Information
The Goods and Services Tax (GST) is a broad-based ten percent tax included in the shelf price of most Australian goods and services. The Tourist Refund Scheme allows international travellers to claim a GST refund (subject to certain conditions) on goods purchased in Australia. The refund only applies to items worn or goods taken on board as hand luggage when leaving the country.

Immigration Information

Insurance
The registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. Participants are advised to take out personal insurance, including cover for travel, accommodation and personal possessions. Neither AMPLA nor International Conferences & Events (ICE) Pty Ltd covers individuals against the cancellations of bookings for any reason including cancellation or postponement of the summit or for theft or damage to belongings.

Liability
In the event of industrial disruptions or natural disasters, AMPLA and International Conferences & Events (ICE) Pty Ltd cannot accept responsibility for any financial or other losses incurred by the delegates. Nor can AMPLA and International Conferences & Events (ICE) Pty Ltd take responsibility for injury or damage to persons or property occurring during the summit or associated activities. Insurance is the responsibility of the individual delegate.

Mobile Phones
Delegates are asked to set their mobile phones to silent when in sessions.

Name Badges and Lanyards
Name badges will be issued when registering at the conference. For security purposes the conference name badge must be worn at all times during the conference and social functions. Entry may be denied if no name badge is displayed.

Privacy
International Conferences & Events (ICE) Pty Ltd will gather and record personal information necessary for your attendance at the conference. Personal information will be gathered, stored and disseminated in accordance with the National Privacy Principles.

Program
Every endeavour has been made to produce an accurate program. The program is correct at time of printing.

Registration Desk
The registration desk will be located in the Ballroom pre-function area on Level 1 of the Westin Brisbane.

Security
Please ensure that you take all items of value with you at all times when leaving a room. Do not leave bags or laptop computers unattended.

Smoking
The conference, social functions and associated venues are non-smoking.

Special Requests
Please note any special requirements, i.e. mobility or sight, when registering for the summit. All special requirements will be forwarded to the venue and we endeavour to accommodate the requirements.

The late registration fee is charged for all registrations received within ten (10) working days to the start of the conference.

Once your registration is finalised, you will receive a confirmation email indicating that you are officially registered. Attached to this email will be your tax invoice and receipt as proof of payment.

No, all payments must be received prior to the conference commencing.

All cancellations and amendments cannot be accepted over the telephone. Cancellations and amendments must be sent in writing either by mail, fax or email to the Conference  Manager. All cancellations will be proceed in line with 2019 AMPLA Annual Conference’s cancellation policy.

Special rates have been negotiated for conference delegates at properties around the Westin Brisbane. These rates are only available to conference delegates and bookings MUST be made via the online registration form. Do not contact the hotel directly to book these rates.

No, all accommodation bookings must be confirmed and guaranteed with a credit card.

Will the credit card supplied be used to pay for the accommodation booking? 2019-07-11T11:21:26+00:00

For bookings at The Westin Brisbane, the card is only used to guarantee the booking, not for full payment. Full payment can be made upon check-in or check-out depending on the hotel’s policy. For bookings at Oaks Charlotte Apartments, the card used to guarantee the booking WILL be used for full payment. Please review the accommodation cancellation policy’s during your booking.

Yes, if you would like to pre-pay your accommodation please contact the Conference Manager at info@amplaconference.com.au  who will request an invoice from the hotel on your behalf.

Each booking is managed through an event group block so hotels will often have this listed differently. For any and all accommodation queries, please contact the Conference Manager at info@amplaconference.com.au rather than going to the hotel directly.

When do accommodation bookings close? 2019-07-11T11:26:03+00:00

At 45 days prior to the conference, all unsold accommodation rooms will be released back to the Westin Brisbane. At 30 days prior to the conference, all unsold accommodation rooms will be released back to Oaks Charlotte Apartments. After this point, all bookings will be made on a request basis and will be subject to the hotel’s availability with rates often different to the special conference rates. It is for this reason that we encourage all accommodation bookings to have been made before these dates.

Getting There

Airport
With more than 22 million passengers in 2014/15, the award-winning Brisbane Airport is the third busiest in Australia. Brisbane is the closest destination for international travellers to Australia and is a great hub to start from for many Australian experiences.

Airtrain
Once you’ve arrived, getting around Brisbane is a pleasure with its first-class network of travel and transport links. From the airport, board the Airtrain for a direct transfer to the city (kids 14 and under travel free) and links the domestic and international terminals. Brisbane Airport is located less than 20 minutes from the city centre via train.

Getting Around

Public Transport – Ferry/Bus/Train
Visitors to Brisbane are able to travel across the city on one cashless ticket called a Go Card, making getting around simple and cost effective. Issued by Translink, the Go Card is a touch-on touch-off system that can be used on the city’s buses, trains, CityCats and ferry services. A Go Card can be purchased at the Translink office located in the Brisbane Visitor Information Centre, on Queen Street Mall or at most local news agencies.

City Loop Bus
For inner-city travel, Brisbane’s free-loop bus service is a fast way to get from point A to point B. Available from Monday to Friday only between 7am and 6pm the Brisbane City Loop Bus runs every 10 minutes and is a jump-on and jump-off system.

Green Cabs
Introduced to Brisbane’s transport landscape in 2009, Green Cabs have quickly become the way to travel around the inner-city. Eco-friendly and affordable the service is only available on weekends, during special events or on special request. Green Cabs can be picked up from the Wheel of Brisbane, South Bank and used between West End and Fortitude Valley.

Taxi
Another way to get to where you need to go is via a taxi. You’ll find taxi ranks at the Brisbane international and domestic airports, as well as throughout Brisbane City and its surrounding regions. Jumping in a taxi can be a quick and efficient way of getting to your destination.
